ABSTRACT
In this Thesis, we apply Constraint Programming to tackle the Protein Structure Pre- diction problem. We show that this programming technique, emerged from Declara- tive Programming and Artificial Intelligence, is effective in handling a problem that is a great challenge for both computer scientists and biologists. We believe that the two disciplines can generate a valuable contribution when melted into bioinformatics. As computer scientists, in this work we focus more on mathematical and implementative aspects, nevertheless paying attention to the biological validation of our results.
